I was delighted to make a bouzouki to raffle off for the Williams Syndrome Association of Ireland. We sold tickets through Custy’s Music Shop in Ennis and I’m very grateful to John O’Connor for all his hard work. We raised €2,200 for the WSAI and Conan Doyle won the bouzouki. Many thanks to everyone who bought a ticket. This bouzouki can be heard on Páraic Mac Donnchadha’s album ‘Not Before Time’ and on Féilte TG4, with Nuadán.
“I was lucky enough to win bouzouki #002 in a charity draw and am very impressed. Lovely tonewoods, great hardware and purfling. The sound is very well balanced—nice lows and strong mids. The treble response is so sweet and present. Using a capo high on the neck is a joy too. Copious sustain, impeccable intonation, and bouzouki you can play all day long. A real boutique instrument.” ~Conan Doyle
